Cleaning and tidying often get lumped together, but many people see cleaning as more of a chore than tidying. Tidying usually involves putting things back where they belong, restoring order, and creating a sense of calm – which can even fell satisfying. Cleaning, on the other hand, requires scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming and dealing with dirt or grime, tasks that are physically demanding and sometime unpleasant. Because cleaning tackles deep messes and can take more effort, it tends to feel like a heavier burden compared to the quicker, more surface- level act of tidying up.
